Poirier Update

I can't keep the secret any longer......the Poirier's are having a baby! Eric and I are so excited! We are expecting the little one to arrive around September 15th. We had an ultra sound done last week and could see the heart beat. We could also see the hands and the legs, it was amazing! The doctor is suspect that baby Poirier may be a boy but said not to paint the room yet and she will confirm on the next ultra sound.

I think Bill and Patty were pretty thrilled that someone else is going to join the baby club! Hannah and Jae will now have a cousin close by! It will be fun to watch them grow up together. Patty was pretty excited and the idea of being able to finally pass on a few baby items and Eric and I are thrilled to accept whatever she wants to give! :)

Other than that, Eric continues to work very hard at our company, Portland Catering Company www.portlandcateringcompany.com Times are tough but so far things are going ok. I am still with Travelers Insurance and work on the surety side in construction bonds. I am an underwriter. I have been doing this for about a year and a half. I still have a lot to learn but really enjoy it.

Bennigan, our six year old basset hound is still as cute as ever and keeps us pretty busy. He is very good with kids and I think will be very accepting of our new addition. Not to mention he will love having me at home with him for 3 months!

I will keep you updated on baby Poirier news, otherwise that is all for now.

man on wire

hi family.
i wanted to recommend a documentary i watched last night called man on wire. it's about philippe petit, a french man who walked wires over sydney harbour and between the towers of notre dame and the world trade centers. the film focuses on the latter - it's almost caper-like in its re-telling. the film is so visually stunning and emotionally beautiful in its artistry.
go watch it then tell me how much you love me for telling you to watch it!
check out philippe "dancing" between the twin towers in 1974. below that philippe lies on the wire between the towers of notre dame. what a feeling that must have been...

DOYLE NEWS -OCTOBER 2008

Sorry, i'm a little behind on the family news. We had a great time on the east coast in October the colors were the best i've ever seen. This was our third time!
Cooperstown NY....... I love the porch here. It's great for rocking, reading and afternoon tea.

This was our room at the Inn.

Mystic, Connecticut. This was view from our room. And we of course had to have Mystic Pizza, while there.

Sturbridge MA.

Sturbridge Village
1800's Village

How to dye yarn!

Battledore and Shuttlecock. Kind of like Badmitton.

Pat and Greg played a game or two!

Time to ship home. Packing the car at times was like a puzzle.

The colors almost don't seem real!

Four Colummns Inn. Our favorite place to stay in Newfane Vermont

The view from our room. Town common

In Jackson, NH, every year there is a big contest and it seems like almost everyone in the town participates. They are call pumpkin people!

The pumkinhead Beatles, they also had grey's anatomy!

Our hotel........... This hotel is very old and still family run!

I love the porch. It was great for our after dinner, Bailey's and Coffee.

greetings family!

what do you all think of the new blog? i love it. good idea, auntie and bill.

we have been having the winters of all winters here in portland. deb, i saw your st. louis snow photos and i had a pts moment. here's some of our snow...

above is my apartment under snow. we are not used to this kind of snow here. portland shut down for about 10 days. it's the most snow we've seen here since the 50's or something. we've also had numerous random snow days following our 10 days. weird. it's unusual and i don't like it!

that's all. i hope everyone is well. peace.
